Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC)
On August 4, 2022, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) Nayef Falah M. Al-Hajraf.
The top officials discussed the relations between Uzbekistan and the Cooperation Council of the Arab Gulf States as well as the progress of the implementation of the agreements, including the Memorandum of Understanding on the mechanism of mutual consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council of the Arab Gulf States, signed in 2021.
M. Al-Hajraf noted that the Cooperation Council of the Gulf Arab States considers Uzbekistan to be one of the major countries in the region and highly appreciates the reforms implemented in the country. The Council is ready to take measures to more effectively use the huge potential in cooperation with Uzbekistan and to establish relations in all areas of interest.
Norov and M. Al-Hajraf negotiated the preparation for the first meeting of the Central Asia-Gulf Arab Cooperation Council strategic dialogue in 2022.
The Secretary-General positively evaluated the results of the international conference on Afghanistan held in Tashkent in July this year.
