Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced at the December 30 meeting that Sardor Kariyev, the head of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, has been fired.
According to the press service of the President, the head of state strongly criticized the health sector and the situation in which children died as a result of taking the drug "Dok-1 Max".
"The death of children in Samarkand and Kashkadarya showed a lack of control and mismanagement. Today I fired Kariyev, the head of the Pharmaceutical Agency. All the officials who condescended and let this befell will be brought to justice!" the president stressed.
Sardor Kariyev had been working as the director of the Pharmaceutical Network Development Agency under the Ministry of Health since February 2019.
