Uzbek chargé d'affaires in Sweden Nadir Ganiyev met with Mark Bassin, a professor of Uppsala and Södertjörn universities, a specialist in the history and geography, "Dunyo" agency reports.
During the dialogue, specific results achieved in Uzbekistan in recent years in terms of ensuring human rights, freedom of speech, gender equality, and the rule of law, as well as the changes that are being made to the country's Constitution, and detailed information about the upcoming national referendum on April 30 was brought to the attention of the interlocutor.
During the negotiations, the prospects of establishing cooperation between the higher education institutions of Uzbekistan, including the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and the universities of Sweden, were discussed.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to continue mutual relations and jointly develop the issue of Mark Bassin's practical trip to Uzbekistan and the organization of bilateral meetings with the officials of higher education institutions of the republic.
It was reported that Quacquarelli Symonds - QS World University Rankings international rating agency announced the results of the 2023 "Subject Rankings" of world universities and that two universities of Uzbekistan were included in this rating.
