In Uzbekistan, card transactions of more than UZS 150mn ($13,000) in one month are to be considered suspicious, according to a bill drawn up by the Department of Combating Economic Crimes under the Central Bank and the General Prosecutor's Office.
Information about operations will be transferred to law enforcement agencies. According to the changes that came into force on April 3, the following transactions are considered suspicious:
Money circulation:
— from one account or electronic wallet to one or more bank cards, electronic wallets for an amount equal to or more than 500 Base Minimum Wage (BMW) (now UZS 150mn, from May 1 - UZS 165mn), 30 days for one or more transfers ;
— money transfers from 5 or more electronic wallets to one foreign electronic wallet at once or several times within 30 days;
— making one or more transfers from one account (e-wallet) to 5 or more foreign bank cards or an e-wallet within 30 days through the mobile application;
— within 30 days in one or more money transfers equal to or more than 500 BMW (now UZS 150mn, from May 1 - UZS 165mn) from one or more cards to one electronic wallet.
Acceptance of funds:
— from one foreign electronic wallet to 5 or more electronic wallets at once or in several transfers within 30 days;
— from 5 or more foreign bank cards to one e-wallet or multiple money transfers to an e-wallet at the same time or within 30 days
The list of high-risk clients that banks should pay more attention to is being filled.
The list includes foreign structures (not legal entities) and people with 20 or more bank cards linked to their account numbers.
