Kyrgyz veterans of the Second World War will receive about $1,100 as one-time aid, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Kyrgyzstan reports.
The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, signed the decree. The aid is aimed at offering financial support for veterans and is being held in connection with the 78th anniversary of the victory in the Second World War.
The state is set to allocate funds to the following groups of people:
- World War II disabled;
- Participants of the Second World War;
- People who were among the minor prisoners of concentration camps, ghettos, and other prisons created by the Nazis and their allies during the Second World War;
- Persons who worked in the enterprises, institutions, and organizations of the city of Leningrad during the blockade from September 8, 1941, to January 27, 1944, were awarded the medal "For the Defense of Leningrad", the insignia "Residents of Leningrad under the Blockade".
One-time financial assistance will be transferred to bank accounts. In addition, veterans will be able to receive money at post offices. According to official data, as of April 1, 2023, 68 veterans reside in the country.
