In cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, the 1st Congress of the Association of Reproductive Medicine of Uzbekistan on the topic "Reproductive technologies - the way to a new life" has begun bringing together about 100 scientists, experts and investors from 15 countries.
Minister of Health Amrillo Inoyatov, acknowledged the increasing share of the private sector in the health sector.
"Before, public and private sector cooperation was not well established. However, today more than 1,500 private medical organizations in obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, and reproductive medicine are operating in our country.
In the future, we want to establish "Centers for Assisted Reproductive Technologies" on the basis of public-private partnership in 15 perinatal centres and 3 republic-level maternity institutions to attract more investments in the field," the minister said.
6 out of 10 clinics providing services based on assisted reproductive technologies were established with the participation of foreign investors.
Inoyatov made a number of proposals for mutual cooperation with international representatives and local experts. In particular, he called for the establishment of private maternity complexes and emphasized that the services provided there would be guaranteed to be purchased by the state.
